Meet Gloria
Serving the community she calls home.
Gloria Murphy is running for re-election to the Centennial School Board, bringing the perspective of a parent, professional, small-business owner, and community volunteer.
Gloria serves the communities of Blaine, Centerville, Circle Pines, Lexington, and Lino Lakes with students at the center.
Growing up in a single-parent household in Mankato, Gloria learned the value of hard work, perseverance, personal responsibility, family, service, and community. Her mother taught her that education, clear goals, and diligent work could make the future unlimited.
Gloria graduated from Mankato West High School, attended Southwest State University, and earned a Bachelor of Applied Science in Business Management. She has worked in medical technology for 18 years, was previously a licensed Realtor, and co-owns a shipping and printing company with her husband.
Those experiences inform a practical approach to school-board work: prepare carefully, listen closely, communicate clearly, and keep the focus on the decisions that help students learn and grow.

Gloria and her husband are raising two daughters in the Centennial School District. Whether helping in the classroom, supporting school events, or participating in community activities, she values every opportunity to give back.
School decisions are not abstractions. They shape classrooms, family routines, staff support, neighborhood confidence, and a student’s sense of possibility.
